This first-floor guestroom has a queen bed decorated with a brass bed frame, surrounded by a large Queen Anne cottage-style window, vaulted ceilings, and an original-style brick fireplace. Decorated with Scottish oak antiques, restored old-growth redwood trim, and a crystal chandelier. It is situated just next to our living room in our historic Pacific Coast Steamship Company building for easy access. Guests have a garden view with Fremont’s Peak in the distance. This room is wheelchair accessible and compliant with the Americans with Disability Act (ADA). This guestroom is located on the 2nd floor. Spacious with vaulted ceilings and huge living room windows invites guests to enjoy panoramic waterfront views of vast wildlife, marshlands, and sand dunes. To add to your enjoyment, step into the balcony and get the front row seat to amazing sunsets. The unit features a full kitchen with utensils, pots, and a pan. The unit consists of a Master King Room, A Room with a Bunk bed with Full & Twin Size, A Room with a Day bed with Trundle. The Master King has a walk-In shower and the other bathroom has a soaking tub.

This 1 Bed Room Suite "HideAway" is a spacious, Non-Smoking room that can accommodate 2 adults and 1 child. This room type is provided for comfort for both leisure and business travelers while visiting Monterey. A kitchenette is provided in this family-sized room and provides all amenities for a comfortable and stress-free stay. The amenities include pots and pans, silverware, coffee/tea maker, a microwave, and a full-sized refrigerator. Other Amenities includes complimentary toiletries, hairdryer, plush towels, work desk, and free WIFI. The unit consists of King Room, A Living Room with a Sofa bed with a Common Walk-In Shower. Early Check-In (complimentary) is available from 3:00 PM if your room is cleaned and ready. Early arrivals cannot be guaranteed and are subject to availability. To guarantee early arrival, we recommend reserving the prior night.
Late Arrival: Please notify us if you will arrive after 6:00 PM. Guests arriving after 8:30 PM staying in the Historic Building are kindly asked to be quiet and considerate of fellow guests on the stairs and hallways.
Late Check-Out: Available until 12:30 PM for $35.00 plus tax. Request the evening before — subject to availability.

YOUR ROOM
• A registration form is in your room — please fill it in and leave it there at departure
• Maximum occupancy varies by room (2 standard). Additional guests beyond the stated maximum: $150/night/person. All occupants must be registered. No unregistered guests permitted at any time.
• Boathouse rooms feature elevated beds designed to provide clear views of the Elkhorn Slough through the large windows — please step in and out with care. By staying in a Boathouse room, guests acknowledge the elevated bed design and agree that Captain's Inn is not liable for injuries resulting from failure to exercise appropriate caution
• Boathouse upper suites have a soaking tub with a handheld showerhead — the showerhead must remain inside the tub at all times during use. Placing it on the surrounding platform will cause water leakage to the unit below. Guests are responsible for any water damage resulting from improper use

SELF CHECK-IN
Captain's Inn offers a contactless self check-in experience. On your arrival day, you will receive a text message with your room name and smart-lock entry code. No waiting — just walk right in.

REGISTRATION
A registration form will be placed in your room. Please complete and sign it at your leisure and leave it in the room or drop it on the study table in the Historic Building upon departure. We require a valid state-issued photo ID, a credit card with a billing address, and the email address of the reservation holder.

QUIET HOURS
• Quiet hours are from 8:30 PM to 9:30 AM.
• Captain's Inn is a place of peaceful relaxation for all guests. Parties, loud music, and excessive noise are not permitted at any hour. Violations will result in a minimum fee of $250 and may result in eviction without refund.

CHILDREN & MINORS
• Guests under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. The accompanying adult is required to sign a written agreement to supervise the minor and ensure their behavior does not disturb other guests or cause damage to the property (Civil Code Section 1865(d)). Refusal to sign this agreement is grounds for refusing accommodations.

SMOKING
Captain's Inn is a 100% smoke-free property. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the premises, including guest rooms, balconies, and common areas. A charge of one additional night's room rate plus a $250 deep-cleaning fee will apply if evidence of smoking is found in a guest room.

PETS
Pets are not permitted on the property. Service animals are welcome in accordance with ADA
law. Emotional support animals are not permitted.

PARKING & WATERWAY
• Complimentary parking on our lot · First come, first served
• SUVs, pickup trucks, and campers must use street parking
• Management is not responsible for vehicle theft or damage
• The river and waterway adjacent to the property are not owned or controlled by Captain's Inn. Guests who access these areas do so entirely at their own risk. Captain's Inn assumes no liability for any injury, accident, or loss occurring in or near the waterway

PAYMENT
• The full balance of your stay is due 48 hours before your arrival date. Accepted payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and Cash (USD only).
• A $150 incidental hold will be placed on your card at check-in and released upon checkout.
• Special events, group stays, long weekends, and holidays may carry separate charging policies, which will be disclosed at the time of booking.

CANCELLATION POLICY
• Standard Policy: Cancellations made more than 48 hours before arrival will receive a full refund, less a $10 credit card processing fee. Cancellations within 48 hours of arrival will forfeit one night's room charge plus tax. No-shows and same-day cancellations forfeit the full reservation amount. Early departures forfeit payment for the entire reserved stay.
• Special Events & Long Weekends: The standard 48-hour policy does not apply to long weekends, special events, or holidays. Separate cancellation terms will be provided at the time of booking.
• Concours d'Elegance — August 7–16, 2026: Cancellations must be received 30 days before arrival. The full reservation amount will be charged at the 30-day mark and is non-refundable. No-shows are charged in full.

PROPERTY POLICIES
• No candles, incense, lighters, or open flames are permitted anywhere on the property, per the Monterey County Fire Marshal.
• Guests are responsible for any loss or damage to room furnishings, linens, towels, glassware, keys, or other items. Charges for missing or damaged items will be applied after departure.
• Captain's Inn is not responsible for personal valuables, cash, or belongings left in guest rooms.
• Unauthorized commercial photography or filming on the property is prohibited without prior written approval.
• Management reserves the right to refuse service to anyone.
• Failure to comply with any of the above policies may result in eviction without refund.

LOST & FOUND
